BITTERSWEET

I've
probably attended close to 20 Synod Assemblies now. I've
gone to them in Minnesota, Montana, Washington, and
Alaska. Some of them were volatile, some were rancorous,
some were dull, some were overwhelming, and some were
calm and pleasant. The most recent one in Anchorage was
my last as active clergy, so there was a bittersweet
quality to it for me.
